On a recent visit to Oregon, I met an artist named Jolie. She was painting inside the window of an art supply store. She was so kind to visit with me while she painted. We exchanged business cards and began to communicate across the miles. I learned that in an effort to get out of the quagmire of overkilling her paintings, she had decided to paint 100 paintings in 100 days and post them all on her blog. I was impressed by her tenacity and willingness to allow others to follow her progress. Every day, I watched to see what she would post. Some of her paintings made me laugh. Who would think to paint candy or toys?
In a moment of insanity, I mentioned to Jolie that I was considering doing something similar because of her inspiration. Because of Jolie, I now have a blog and we are going to start an artistic adventure together and it will be recorded here. It is to be an artistic conversation. She will paint something and I will paint something in reply, then she will paint something in response to mine. Feel free to listen in!
