Yesterday, I went shopping. The nearest store is fifty miles away, but the scenery is beautiful. We’ve had several snow storms so the sunshine was bright and sparkling.
On the way home, I stopped several times to photograph the full moon. I took this photo at Long Lake, just as darkness started to close in. It was a sad moment because to my left is the site of an accident that occurred a few days ago. A young mother and her two children lost their lives and although I didn’t know them, our small community feels the loss and we freshly face the danger of driving this road.
What dangers do you face and yet keep going?
Very beautiful Suzie …. Yes, beautiful, haunting, joyful and just packed full of lifes moments. Long lake and other areas along the Glenn Highway trigger so many memories over 37. Riding up Long Lake hill while holding baby Jeanine and having the moment imbedded deeply in my soul. And in the same spot on the highway, a young woman on a motorcycle was accidentally run over by a semi … Same spot, different year and time in space. Seeing the beauty of the sun coming up in front of me and the moon shiny at the same level in the rear view mirror. This world is so amazing!
We’ve gone over a lot of pavement, haven’t we, Colleen? That drive is a good time to think. It is indeed an amazing world.
